Race to benefit turtles

We are very happy that the Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) rehabilitation center will host the third edition of “Making Turtle Tracks”, a 5 km walk/run that will take place on Saturday, April 27 at 07:00 am. with the aim of raising funds that will go towards their sea turtle rehabilitation program.

This is a walk/run that GWMI will be holding in conjunction with Panama City Beach Turtle Watch and Keep PCB Beautiful. In case there is bad weather on the date scheduled for the event, it will take place the next day, Sunday, April 28 and the venue for this edition will be completely new; all participants must appear on the beach near Beach Access 52, in front of the Barefoot Hide-A-Way restaurant.

Due to the recent commemoration of Earth Day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about local sea turtles, shorebirds, marine mammals and other local coastal wildlife, making it a sporting/educational event. You have until the day of the event to register, all runners will receive bags with items from our sponsoring organizations, there will be a hydration station and we will also have food donated by Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ.

We would like to thank Florida Watersports, Sunset Eagle Aviation, PCB Turtle Watch, Half Hitch, Panhandle Aquascapes and Landscaping, Publix, History Class Brewing Company, Señor Frogs, Keep PCB Beautiful, Inhouse Ink, and Barefoot Hide-A-Way for their participation in this event, without your support none of this would be possible.
