Dolphin Discovery announces activities to commemorate Dolphin Day

Cancún, Quintana Roo, April 11, 2024.- Dolphin Discovery, a brand of habitats for interaction with marine mammals of The Dolphin Company family, a park operator with a global presence, announced at a press conference that through its program ‘Loving is Educating’ will carry out Dolphin Week. This event consists of various free educational activities that will take place from Sunday, April 14th to Saturday, April 20th, to raise awareness among people about the importance of caring for dolphins.

For more than five years, The Dolphin Company has held this event to commemorate Dolphin Day, which is celebrated on April 14th of each year. The event provides exciting information that allows its attendees to generate empathy with the species and turn them into Ocean Ambassadors, who, with small actions, can make big changes in the life of this species and the habitat that surrounds it.

The Dolphin Week program will be as follows:

DATE TIME PLACE ACTIVITY
April 14 During the day All Dolphin Discovery habitats Games, presentations and special tours
April 15–18 Morning and afternoon school shifts Cancún and Playa del Carmen’s Elementary and High Schools Playful activities

April 20 08:00 – 10:00 a.m. Dolphins Beach Beach cleaning

A hallmark of this annual event is that it is an inclusive event. Two Mexican Sign Language interpreters will attend the conferences on April 19th. Among the recreational and educational materials, they will have infographics in Braille and sensory material for children with autism. Likewise, part of this week’s activities will be broadcast on social media to reach a larger audience. In this fifth edition, they hope to educate and inspire more than two thousand children, who will join the more than five thousand who have participated in previous editions of Dolphin Week.

“For us who live with this wonderful species every day, it is very exciting to involve children, adolescents, and adults in the world of dolphins. We invite the entire community of our State to attend the commemorative activities for Dolphin Day so that they can learn curious facts about their physiognomy, feeding, gestation, and care, among much more information about the species,” said Rosy Cerrillos, Corporate Manager of Marine Mammal Specialists from The Dolphin Company.

Every year, the population of marine species is significantly reduced due to climate change and the pollution of their habitat. Dolphin Discovery invites people of all ages to be aware of this situation and to actively get involved in free activities whose main objective is to provide valuable information about the care of dolphins.
