Who Plant a Tree, Plant a Hope

Recently, we carried out a reforestation in conjunction with the General Directorate of Ecology of the Municipality of Benito Juarez on the bicycle lane located on the Cancun Avenue to launch the initiative “Who plants a tree, plants a hope”.

More than 50 trees of the species Dzidzilché (Gymnopodium floribundum), Flor de Mayo (Plumeria rubra), Ciricote (Cordia dodecandra), Akits (Thevetia gaumeri), Chacá (Bursera simaruba), Pomolche (Jathropha gaumeri), Majahua (Hampea trilobata) and Palma chit (Thrinax radiata) were planted on the bicycle lane by executives and volunteers from both organizations.

According to the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, some of the benefits of planting trees are:

– Reduce the greenhouse effect

– Absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere

– Mitigate climate change

– Produce oxygen and purify the air

– Form fertile soils and avoid erosion

– Promote the establishment of other species

For us it is a commitment to foster among our associates and their families a culture of respect for the environment. It is essential to make our collaborators and the general public aware of the importance of participating in these types of activities that contribute to the well-being of our environment and, therefore, of our planet. Planting a tree means planting life and hope for future generations.
