The Dolphin Company Celebrates The 3rd. Anniversary Of Its “To Love Is To Care” Campaign In Favor Of Dogs And Cats In Vulnerable Situations

The “To love is to care” campaign is focused on raising awareness about the responsible ownership of dogs and cats as pets and counteracting the growing number of animals in a street situation

Cancun, Quintana Roo, June 30th, 2020.- The Dolphin Company, a Socially Responsible Company, committed to animal welfare, celebrated the third anniversary of the campaign for the responsible ownership of pets ‘To Love is To Care’.

This year, due to the global health contingency, it was not possible to carry out the Pet Friendly Mega Bazaar, an annual activity designed to collect food for dogs and cats from shelters whose program included educational talks with the participation of recognized experts in the field, exhibition and offer of products for pets and fun dynamics in which owners and pets participated.

“This year, the pandemic situation we are experiencing, prevented us from making our well-known bazaar. However, we commemorate our anniversary with actions that, in addition to raising awareness of responsible pet care, allowed us to benefit dogs and cats that are in shelters or on the streets. Through the To Love is To Care campaign, Dolphin Discovery donated food, sterilizations, cleaning products and medicines. We are very happy to celebrate three years of this successful campaign and our purpose is to continue, even in times of contingency like the current one”, said Cecilia Aguilar, Public Relations Executive.

This year 2020, To Love is To Care launched on its Facebook page an open invitation for the public to share photographs with their pet, the images should reflect activities they carried out together during the quarantine, in addition to a text that describes said image. The winner was chosen at random by means of an application and was awarded a double pass to attend the Garrafón Park located in Isla Mujeres and was given an identification name tag for his pet.

Some of the achievements of To Love is To Care over these three years are:

  • More than 12,850 identification name tags delivered
  • Participation in more than 120 events
  • More than 4,700 followers on social networks
  • More than 320 sterilizations
  • More than 4,000 kg of donated croquettes
  • Support to shelters and associations with medicines and supplies for rescued dogs and cats
  • Support for the “Rescue, sterilize and release” campaign of the CLEVET Clinic

To Love is To Care obtains symbolic donations of $25.00 pesos for the payment of medical services and the acquisition of food, through the offer of engraved identification name tags that allow pets to have an opportunity to return home in case of getting lost and in this way reduce the increase in street fauna in the city.
