The Dolphin Company And The Municipality Of Benito Juarez Carry Out The Iniciative: Who Plant a Tree, Plant a Hope

The Dolphin Company, the largest park operator in Latin America and the #1 swimming with dolphins company in the world, in conjunction with the General Directorate of Ecology of the Municipality of Benito Juarez gathered on the bicycle lane located on the Cancun Avenue to launch the initiative “Who plants a tree, plants a hope”.

The Dolphin Company encouraged its collaborators to participate as volunteers in this initiative that contributes to the environment. Aware of the importance of reforestation in the city, executives and volunteers from both organizations prepared the land and planted more than 50 trees on a section of the bicycle lane.

According to the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources, some of the benefits of planting trees are:

  • Reduce the greenhouse effect
  • Absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere
  • Mitigate climate change
  • Produce oxygen and purify the air
  • Form fertile soils and avoid erosion
  • Promote the establishment of other species

“As a Socially Responsible Company, for The Dolphin Company it is a commitment to foster a culture of respect for the environment among our associates and their families. For us, it is essential to raise awareness among our employees and the general public about the importance of participating in these types of activities that contribute to the well-being of our environment and, therefore, of our planet. Planting a tree means planting life and hope for future generations”, said Addy Gamboa, Corporate Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for The Dolphin Company.

Some of the species planted in this reforestation were Dzidzilché (Gymnopodium floribundum), Flor de mayo (Plumeria rubra), Ciricote (Cordia dodecandra), Akits (Thevetia gaumeri), Chacá (Bursera simaruba), Pomolche (Jathropha gaumeri), Majahua (Hampea trilobata) and Palma chit (Thrinax radiata).

The Dolphin Company and the General Directorate of Ecology of the Municipality of Benito Juarez will continue with this reforestation scheme in the Cancun Avenue bicycle lane and in other parts of the city.
