Cancun, Quintana Roo 10 December 2019.- – On December 2nd, Dolphin Discovery celebrated 25 years of creating and sharing unforgettable experiences for the millions of guests the Group receives annually within its 31 habitats and parks.
During a press conference, the CEO of Grupo Dolphin, Mr. Eduardo Albor, announced that within the framework of the 25th anniversary, given the international expansion that the company has had in the last five years and the maturity that it has reached, ‘The Dolphin Company’ was born. This name reflects the consolidation of the company. It becomes the umbrella brand for the fabulous brands that comprise the Group, which has become the largest Dolphin family in the world and the largest park operator in Latin America.
He also announced the acquisition of Ocean Adventures in the Dominican Republic. Ocean Adventures is an excursion pioneer in the Bavaro region of Punta Cana and adds many new tours to The Dolphin Company in the Dominican Republic.
At the conference, Mr. Albor shared the highlights of the Dolphin Discovery to date:
- Currently, the company has 21 Dolphin habitats, eight parks and two marinas in 8 countries on two continents.
- More than 2,400 animals of more than 80 species are under their care.
- More than 150 marine mammals were born through their successful breeding program ‘The Miracle Program.’
- More than 300 Specialists and Veterinarians are in charge of caring for the species.
- More than 250 Marine Animals have been rescued and rehabilitated by Dolphin Discovery through the Rescue Team Program.
- More than 130,000 educational tours have been carried out at their habitats.
- More than 230,000 schools have participated in educational sessions through the ‘To Love is To Educate’ program.
- They have supported more than 200,000 social programs through the Dolphin Discovery Foundation.
- They have fulfilled more than 100,000 dreams of children in vulnerable conditions.
- They have organized and attended more than 1,200 cleanings of beaches and mangroves, collecting more than 100 tons of garbage.
- They have more than 2,500 associates and associates in Latin America, the USA, the Caribbean, and Europe.
- More than 10 million guests have lived with Dolphin Discovery The Experience of a Lifetime.
