Mar del Plata, Argentina, December 18th, 2018. – Grupo Dolphin, the World’s number one Family of Dolphin habitats, announced the acquisition of the park “Aquarium Mar del Plata” on December 12th. The Aquarium is located in Argentina’s main summer touristic destination and one of the most visited parks in that country. Aquarium Mar del Plata is the first acquisition in South America for Grupo Dolphin, where it is planning to expand in the following years.
Aquarium Mar del Plata, the most visited park in the city of Mar del Plata, opened its doors in 1993 and was purchaset by Parques Reunidos Group (Madrid). With more than 9 hectares, the park receives more than 200,000 guests annually and it’s known for its natural setting in front of the Pacific Ocean. It has a fantastic diversity of fauna that includes several species of penguins, fish, sharks, dolphins, sea lions and lemurs.
There is also a great variety of local and exotic birds in a beautiful aviary and the opportunity to interact with many different species and enjoy different educational shows, natural exhibits, and wonderful food and beverage offerings with panoramic views to the ocean, creating an unforgettable experience during your visit to Argentina.
With more than 24 years of experience in the world of marine mammals and training, and with parks/habitats in 10 countries and 2 continents, Grupo Dolphin received more than 2 million guests in 2018, half which lived the experience of interacting with marine mammals in one of their 24 habitats. The Dolphin Family includes more than 260 dolphins, 45 sea lions, and 18 manatees among other species as well as different species of penguins, fish, and exotic birds.
