It is with great joy that we announce that today the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, under the leadership of Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Commissioner Raquel Regalado, has unanimously passed a resolution to take over the Miami Seaquarium operations.
We are pleased with the county’s efforts to ensure greater transparency and accountability in Miami Seaquarium activities for the conservation and well-being of animals, as these same values and principles are the foundation of our company.
As with all of our parks and habitats around the world, aspects related to Miami Seaquarium operations will be carefully evaluated and any necessary improvements will be implemented immediately, always with the objective of benefiting the species, collaborators and visitors.
For more than 26 years, we have operated with a mission to connect people with magnificent marine mammals and marine life through educational and interactive experiences. In each of our parks around the world, animal welfare is our main concern, so we always adhere to local and federal laws and regulations that govern the care of marine and terrestrial animals.
