Gulf World Reintegrates a Turtle to its Habitat

Our multi-experience park Gulf World, located in Panama City Beach in Florida, United States, reintegrated today a Loggerhead sea turtle that was in rehabilitation for several days due to an injury caused by a fisherman’s hook.

The turtle was stranded on the Miller County pier last Sunday after suffering a laceration in the mouth caused by a fishing hook. Immediately, our marine fauna assistance center Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) was notified, where our specialists and veterinarians carried out the pertinent medical examinations to later treat her and take care of her during her recovery.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission authorized the turtle’s reintegration into the Gulf of Mexico, so today, our medical team successfully reintegrated her on the beach located at 6 South Walton Lakeshore Drive, Inlet Beach.

It is important that if you as a resident of Panama City Beach see stranded or deceased dolphins, whales or sea turtles, you immediately report it to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, 1-888-404-3922 or #FWC on your cell phone.
