We are proud to announce that our multi-experience park Gulf World, located in Florida, United States, is participating in an important investigation by the Kolmarden Zoo and the Oceanografic Aquarium about the metabolism of dolphins of the species Steno bredanensis or Rough-toothed Dolphins that live in his care.
Kolmarden is the largest zoo in the Nordic countries and is located in Sweden, it has the presence of more than 60 different species of animals, among many other attractions. On the other hand, Oceanografic is located in Valencia, Spain and is considered the largest aquarium in Europe and has large aquariums that reproduce the most important marine ecosystems.
The data that Kolmarden, Oceanografic and Gulf World will obtain from such research is important to cetacean conservation efforts and can only be performed on individuals in professional care. Gulf World’s dolphins were rescued after a stranding, rehabilitated and deemed impossible to reintegrate due to specific health conditions. Now, these specimens provide important information for the protection of the species in the wild.
