Four Green Sea Turtles return to the Sea!

We are proud to share that the Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) successfully reintroduced four young Green Sea Turtles back into the Gulf of Mexico on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Salinas Park Gulfside, Florida.

During cold snaps, Sea Turtles can suffer from cold-stunning, entering a comatose state due to the low temperatures in shallow bays. These Turtles were brought to rehabilitation at GWMI on January 10 of this year, and thanks to the care provided by our Veterinary team, they were soon cleared to return to the sea. We are grateful to all the organizations that helped with their rescue.

Gulf World invited the public to attend the event and reminded everyone of the importance of reporting any stranded Sea Turtle, Dolphin, or Whale to the emergency number of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
