Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, May 16 2019.- Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres celebrated today the visit of its 2 millionth guest, Mr. Jacky Chan along with his wife Brianna and their two children, who came from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They were received to the sound of the mariachi and the staff members of the habitat. Among applauses and celebrations, they were given by the manager of the place, Mr. Carlos Guerrero, 2 million swims with dolphins in any of the park of Grupo Dolphin around the world.
As an additional gift, the 2 millionth visitors, who were sent by the agency Nexus, received an upgrade in their swim with dolphins which allowed them to have an additional interaction with manatees and sea lions.
“We are very happy for this wonderful surprise of being the 2 millionth guests, we had no idea that they had this celebration today and when we heard about it on the boat we never imagined it could be us, even though we absolutely wanted it. This is our first time in Mexico and we also got to know this beautiful marine species for the first time today. The dolphins, the sea lions, and manatees are an experience that we will never forget. They taught us a lot about the importance of their conservation and we are very thankful for making this day something spectacular”
Said Mr. Jacky Chan, winner of the prize.
Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres, the first habitat of Grupo Dolphin, opened its doors to the public in 1994 to give unforgettable experiences to the guests that allowed them to know more about the species at the same time that they learned about their care and conservation. Currently there are 29 dolphins, 3 sea lions, and 4 manatees living in the habitat.
“Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres is proud of receiving our 2 millionth guest on the eve of our 25th anniversary. The expression in our guests’ faces when they share with us the love for these marine mammals can’t be compared. It fills us with satisfaction to celebrate this goal with Mr. Jacky Chan and his family. We hope to see them soon so they can visit the other 28 habitats and parks that make up the Dolphin Family”, said Carlos Guerrero, General Manager of Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres.
