Cayman, Islas Vírgenes Británicas, April 27, 2019.- Grupo Dolphin, in its two habitats: Discovery and Cove Cayman today celebrated the seventh edition of its 10,000 smiles social program that will have as a beneficiary “Have a Heart” which provides support to children who need surgery or heart transplants.
Guillermo Lobo, Manager of both locations commented that besides offering the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience and celebrate Children’s Day at a preferential price, the objective is to raise funds in order to support civil society organizations fulfill their mission. This program is carried out in the different habitats of the Dolphin Group.
Guillermo also said: “We are very excited for this edition, as a Socially Responsible Company, Discovery and Cove Cayman are proud to carry out actions in favor of the communities that need it most, in this case, boys and girls who, due to their vulnerable situation, they do not have the resources to get a transplant or a heart surgery.”
The actions carried out by “Have a Heart” consist in supporting children from the Caribbean and around the world. All the money raised is used to transfer people from other cities or countries that need surgery or a heart transplant that would normally have a cost between $ 60,000 and $ 750,000 USD, but Have a Heart pays $ 25,000 USD, and people can have it at no cost.
“At Have a Heart, our mission is to transmit cardiovascular health and happiness to all the children of the world. Through our commitment to pediatric cardiology, we support children regardless of their race, religion, sex, social or economic status, to provide them and their families hope about their future. All this would not be possible without the support of institutions and companies such as Grupo Dolphin, for which we are very grateful for their interest and support in this important mission”, said Jennifer McCarthy of Have a Heart.
It is important to mention that 10,000 Smiles, in its previous editions, has been recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE) as a company with “Best practices in the field of bonding with the community.
The interactive swims that were made in the morning schedule were sold on a regular basis via travel agencies, website or direct purchase. While the interactive swims that were made between 12:00 and 15:00 hrs had a special price; before April 26 it was $ 20 CI and on April 27 it was $ 30 CI.
