We’re excited to share that Gulf World Marine Institute successfully released two rehabilitated juvenile sea turtles—a Kemp’s ridley and a green sea turtle—back into the Gulf of Mexico on the morning of Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Salinas Park in Port St. Joe, Florida. Both turtles, named Marianna and Pip, were rescued earlier this year and treated for injuries and illness before being medically cleared for release.
This event highlights GWMI’s ongoing efforts in marine wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, made possible thanks to the collaboration with local patrol groups and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. We thank everyone involved in this event.
