The concert will take place as part of The Dolphin Company’s 30th anniversary celebrations and will be held on Friday, March 21, at 8:30 p.m. at the Cancún Theater. The program includes: Water Music by Händel, as well as The Storm at Sea by Vivaldi.

The Dolphin Company, as a socially responsible company for 20 years, continuously promotes the cultural and social development of Cancún. We firmly believe in the power of art to transform communities. Sponsoring the ‘Water Music’ concert by the Cancún Symphonic Orchestra is one way to contribute to the cultural enrichment of our city and offer all Cancún residents the opportunity to enjoy the magic of classical music in a unique setting. I invite everyone to join us in celebrating The Dolphin Company’s anniversary and to enjoy the ‘Water Music’ concert,” said Lic. Eduardo Albor, CEO of The Dolphin Company.

The “Water Music” concert will be performed by 25 extraordinary musicians from the Cancún Symphonic Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Gerardo Tlapa, a renowned flutist and the orchestra’s artistic director.

Manuel García Jurado, President of the Patronato para la Cultura y las Artes de Cancún A.C., stated: “We are thrilled that The Dolphin Company is celebrating its 30th anniversary with us. This concert is the result of the combined efforts of two organizations for the benefit of Cancún’s culture: the Patronato para la Cultura y las Artes de Cancún and The Dolphin Company, a company that integrates renowned water parks, theme parks, and adventure parks that encompass leisure, culture, and fun. We invite the public to enjoy this wonderful musical event.”

It is important to note that the work “Water Music,” composed by Georg Friedrich Händel, was premiered on July 17, 1717, at the request of King George I to be performed on the River Thames. The concert was offered on a barge that sailed near the king’s vessel, and it is said that the king was so pleased that the piece had to be performed three times during the journey.

Currently, the Cancún Symphonic Orchestra consists of 50 musicians and is made up of the four families of orchestral instruments. The orchestra’s music covers works from all periods, from the Renaissance to contemporary 21st-century compositions. Special arrangements are also made to adapt popular music to the instruments of a classical orchestra.

All concerts are held at the Teatro de Cancun at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at tusboletos.mx and at the theater box office.
