Today is one of the saddest days for Miami Seaquarium and The Dolphin Company family.

With great sadness and our broken hearts we share with you the loss of our beloved Lolita who, after more than 48 hours of intense medical care, in which our team of animal care specialists and the her specialized veterinary team were giving her the best care for her recovery, her health deteriorated rapidly and she passed away accompanied by the people who loved and cared for her so much. At her advanced age, her passing is not a complete surprise. Yet it is a tremendous and overwhelming loss, one felt particularly by those who have loved and cared for her on a daily basis, as well as those around the world that care so much for her.  The entire team at Miami Seaquarium and The Dolphin Company are heartbroken. There are no words to describe the grief the global community of animal experts, animal care professionals and animal lovers is experiencing.

“It is a very difficult time for those who knew Lolita; she inspired millions of people who knew her and learned from her,” said Danay Voiles, General Manager at Miami Seaquarium. In the following days we will share what will be the ceremony to bid farewell to beautiful Lolita.
