Gulf World Marine Institute is pleased to announce that four Kemp’s ridleys and one green turtle will be released into the Gulf of Mexico next Thursday, January 26 at 6081 Cape San Blas Road, Port Saint Joe, Florida 32456.
During cold snaps, sea turtles can become cold-stunned (comatose) from frigid temperatures in shallow bays and estuaries below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
The public is invited to attend this event. Please remember that all sea turtle reintegration events are subject to change in the event of bad weather conditions and in the event the turtles are delayed, that information will be shared on the event page as well as with on-site representatives.
We thank all the organizations and volunteers that rescue, transport, rehabilitate and reintegrate turtles, as without them this would not be possible.
