Gulf World Marine Institute Reintegrates a Young Green Turtle

Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI), a member of our family in the United States, today morning reintegrated Spruce, a juvenile green sea turtle in the Gulf of Mexico from Inlet Beach Regional Beach Access at 438 W Park Place.

Spruce was rescued on August 20, after a member of the Panama City Beach Turtle Watch reported that a small turtle was swimming slowly and could not swim to deep water. He received a complete veterinary examination and after several days was ready to return to the sea with the authorization of Florida Fish and Wildlife.

GWMI would like to thank everyone involved in the rescue of Spruce. This includes the Panama City Beach Turtle Watch, who reported on the turtle, and the institute’s volunteers.

Please remember that if you see a stranded or deseased dolphin, whale or sea turtle, report it immediately to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 1-888-404-3922 or #FWC on your cell phone.
