Gulf World releases Jaime the Sea Turtle in Florida’s Salinas Park

The Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) released a Sea Turtle in the Gulf of Mexico, Jaime is an adult turtle female that was accidentally caught by a recreational fisherman at the Navarre Beach Pier.

This is the fourth time Jaime has been rehabilitated and reintroduced, the last time was in February 2020. After spending several days in the care of Specialists and volunteers, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has authorized her release.

Gulf World Marine Institute thanks the members of the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Center Stranding Response Team, the Gulfarium C.A.R.E. Center, and the volunteers who participated in Jaime’s rescue.

Our Gulf World park continues its mission to protect the species, and to date has been able to rehabilitate a large number of Marine Mammals and Turtles, with the support of the community.
