Cancun, Quintana Roo October 24, 2019.- During a press conference, Grupo Dolphin announced the tour of its environmental awareness program for children, teens, and young adults ‘To Love is To Educate”. Which aims to raise awareness among the young population of Quintana Roo about the importance of caring for the environment and the species that inhabit it; all this through an educational rally and a play based on the story “The Ocean Adventures of Pinni, Tursi & Mydas”, written by Donna Kassewitz and illustrated by Noel Kassewitz.
The presidium table was integrated by Rosy Cerrillos, Corporate Manager of Marine Mammal Specialists of Grupo Dolphin, Hugo Álvarez, Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts, Addy Gamboa, Corporate Marketing Manager of Grupo Dolphin and Madeleine Palacios, Public Relations Manager of Grupo Dolphin.
During the conference, Hugo Álvarez said that it is always a pleasure for the Institute of Culture and the Arts to participate in programs and activities for the well-being of the environment and animal welfare. While Rosy Cerrillos stated that to this date, 77,226 people have been provided with free educational tours, 34,517 people in educational modules located in each habitat, 3,259 children in free school visits, while also 2,600 students that have visited the habitats. She also indicated that this is only one of the many activities that Grupo Dolphin performs as a Socially Responsible Company, which in the special 2019 edition of the magazine Expansión in October occupies the 2nd place in the top ten of Socially Responsible Companies.
Madeleine Palacios announced the calendar of activities that collectively with the Institute of Culture and Arts and the Directorate of Ecology of the City Council will carry out from this day forward in government schools. In addition to these, private schools, organizations and institutions of Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras will be visited.
They also introduced Grupo Dolphin’s ambassadors: Triton and Frida the dolphins, Pingo the sea lion, and Romeo the manatee. “All of them inspired by animals that actually live in our habitats, all of which share special stories. They are part of the second generation of the ‘Miracle’ breeding program, this means that their mother was also born under human care, and they share knowledge about the care they receive from marine mammal specialists and contribute to research that helps their brothers who live in the ocean”, said Addy Gamboa, Corporate Marketing Manager of Grupo Dolphin.
They mentioned that although the official launch was today, they have already presented this awareness program in the group’s habitats, schools, and a few organizations. To date, approximately 20 schools are scheduled to raise awareness of more than 1,000 children and adolescents and young adults in Riviera Maya.
